You've tried to move on. But the past keeps pulling you back.
Maybe it's the anxiety that won't quiet down. The memories that show up uninvited. The exhaustion of holding it all together while carrying something heavy underneath. You're not broken — your nervous system is stuck in a loop it was never meant to stay in. And there's a way through.
I'm a Boulder-based EMDR therapist, and I help people like you finally put the pain of the past in the rearview mirror - so you can actually be present for your life. Ready to take one small step?
Free 15-minute discovery call - no pressure, just a conversation to see if we're a good fit. Whether you're looking for weekly EMDR therapy or an immersive EMDR intensive, I offer both in Boulder, CO.
You might recognize yourself in some of these:
Racing thoughts you can't shut off
Sleep disrupted by memory or dread
Patterns that repeat no matter what you try
A body that carries the stress your mind tries to forget
Grief or loss that won't soften with time
Feeling disconnected from who you used to be
These aren't character flaws. They're signs that your nervous system is working hard to protect you — and it needs some support to finally let go.
EMDR therapy reaches what talk therapy can't.
Most therapy helps you understand your pain. EMDR helps you heal it — at the source, in your body and your brain, not just in the story you tell about it.
Think of it like this: when you've been through something hard, the memory can get stuck at the airport security checkpoint — alarm bells going off, unable to move forward. EMDR is what quiets those alarms, so you can finally board the plane and get where you actually want to go.
EMDR is widely recognized as one of the most effective evidence-based treatments for PTSD, complex trauma, anxiety, and grief. Treatment begins with an assessment and intake session to make sure we're a good fit and to explore your history and goals together. From there, our first session focuses on "resourcing" — building you a polyvagal toolkit of breathing exercises, somatic grounding practices, and movement tools like Havening (a gentle self-touch technique) that you can draw on throughout our work. You're also welcome to bring a loved one for additional support. When we begin the actual EMDR processing, you'll choose your preferred form of bilateral stimulation — traditional eye movement, bilateral sound, or hand-held Neuro-tech buzzers that vibrate alternately to engage both sides of your brain. As you focus on processing difficult memories, this bilateral rhythm helps your brain form new associations, install positive thoughts and beliefs, and gradually consolidate trauma into the adaptive, healing part of your brain.
What working together looks like
1.We start with a free discovery call : 15 minutes to see if we're a good fit — no commitment, no pressure. Just a real conversation about where you are and where you want to be.
2. We build your foundation : Before we touch any trauma, you'll leave your first session with a polyvagal toolkit — breathing techniques, grounding practices, and body-based tools that are yours to keep, no matter what.
3. We do the deeper work : Using bilateral stimulation — eye movement, sound, or hand buzzers — we help your brain reprocess the memories that have been running the show from the background. Not reliving, reprocessing.
4. You reclaim your life : Clients often describe feeling lighter, more present, more themselves. The past is still the past — but it's no longer in the driver's seat.
